Who We Accept
Straightway Sober Living accepts male and female adults in the Detroit metro area who are committed to recovery.
- 18 years of age or older
- Committed to sobriety — no active substance use
- Willing to follow all house rules and program expectations
- Able to pay weekly rent (financial assistance referrals available)
- No active violent criminal history (reviewed case by case)
- Willing to participate in house meetings and recovery activities

How to Apply

Phone Screening
A 15–20 minute call to learn about your situation, answer your questions, and confirm eligibility.
Home Tour
If the screening goes well, we'll invite you for an in-person tour of the home and a meeting with house staff.
Move In
Once approved, we'll confirm your move-in date, review the house agreement, and get you settled.
Rates & Fees
We believe recovery shouldn't be out of reach. Our rates are competitive for the Detroit metro area.
We can connect residents with local resources for financial assistance, including MDHHS, Oxford Houses, and recovery housing funds.

Referring a Client?
We work closely with counselors, case managers, treatment centers, and courts across the Detroit metro area.

Common Questions
How quickly can someone move in?
In many cases, we can accommodate a move-in within 48–72 hours of approval, depending on bed availability.
Do you accept people coming directly from treatment?
Yes. We frequently work with treatment centers and welcome residents transitioning directly from inpatient or outpatient programs.
What if a resident relapses?
A relapse results in immediate discharge to protect the community. We can help connect the resident with treatment resources.
Is there a minimum stay?
We ask for a minimum 30-day commitment. Most residents stay 3–12 months, which research shows significantly improves long-term outcomes.
Can family members visit?
Yes, with prior notice and during approved visiting hours. No overnight guests.
